What is Digg?

You have probably heard about Digg and how it can generate traffic to your Website. But what is Digg actually?

Do you Digg your own articles? Have others Dugg your content? If not, you have been missing out on one of the best ways to drive traffic to your site.

Digg.com is a community-based website that reports a website’s contents’ popularity. You can submit your own blog posts, articles, pictures, videos and if the community likes them, they can digg it.

Digg.com combines blogging, social bookmarking, and syndication with a type of democratic, non-hierarchical editorial system that many news Websites employ.

Websites and news stories are submitted by Digg users and are then promoted on the front page of Digg.com through a user-based ranking system. This differs from many of the other news sites which uses hierarchical editorial system.

Visitors can read all of the stories that have been submitted by fellow users in the “Digg/News/Upcoming” section of the site. When a story receives enough “diggs”, it will appear on the home page off Digg.com.

Should a story not receive enough diggs, or if enough readers report a problem with the submission, the story will remain in the “digg all” area, where it may be removed, eventually.

Never Give Up,
